So I started watching Doctor Who, I am currently on the second season. The first season was interesting and it took me a little while to get hooked, but after I got into it I really enjoyed it. One of the coolest things about Doctor Who is that it is capable of incorporating horror in a classy and scientific way unlike other shows such as Stargate where they focus so much on realism that it's hard to be scared in a horror type of way.

A few months ago I had become aware of this show and I decided to watch an episode. It was very entertaining, even though I didn't expect much since I am not a gamer and this was based off of a video game storyline. One of the selling points about this fantasy was the fact that it starred Felicia Day who was also in The Guild and Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog. I just read the Farscape short story Horizons written by Rockne S. O'Bannon, the writer of the Farscape TV and Comic Series. While reading this I was interested in comparing it to the actual end of the series. Horizons was released in May 2003 and the current comic series just ended in or around November 2011.

Alright, so it's not that easy to write a comic book, but it's almost impossible to write and draw a comic book, in-fact a year ago I'd probably laugh at someone who said they're doing that. Actually... If you ask me right now I'll still probably laugh. But regardless, over the past year or so, in my free time I have been writing some mediocre science fiction scripts, I figure, it takes time, and it does. But anyway, I don't know any good artists who have the sort of style I'm looking for.

Hello Everyone, over the years I've thought about what Science fiction has meant to me and how I connect with it. For me, my main interest has been in exploring and going beyond what we know. I get a thrill and a almost complete satisfaction from exploring beyond the depths of our current society, it's government, standards, societies, and members. In a way I believe it stems from my belief in freedom, and in a broader sense than the American spin. I believe in something more universal that isn't interfered with or tainted by Christian or other religious belief.

In my opinion, Red Dwarf is an amazingly funny sitcom. It has gotten me trough some crazy times. This is old news, but as most fans know, Red Dwarf has been renewed for a tenth, though techically ninth, series! I thought Back to Earth was different, it was fun and it was mindblowing, it was a work of art, but was it also quite different. Red Dwarf : Back to Earth was certainly not the Dwarf from the 1900s, the cast was older, the CGI was, well, there was CGI, and the story appeared much more polished and less random, the look and feel wasn't rustic or old.

Last weekend I took part in the filming of a Firefly Fan Fiction to be entered in the 29 Days Later film competition. I was there just as someone to help out and setup some things. This short Fan Fiction was written by Cliff, a partner/founder of PA Films. Through this process of driving an hour and a half, eight hours of unpacking, setting up, getting ready, and filming multiple takes, we were left with what we think will be a 7-10 minute film and a lot of good experiences. I met a few very interesting people, among whom was David Grimes who played Mal.

So recently I have been watching Firefly, it is a truly unique show and has so much potential, unfortunately it was only aired for all but half a season. On July 23rd I am going with the writer of a Firefly Fan-Fiction to film an independent episode. I'm not really sure how any of it is going to go, or if the content will ever be published, but if it is and I have access to it, it has a place here on Madtast, given it meets legal requirements.
